One of the options is to rent portable dehumidifiers and place them throughout the basement to remove the moisture. The dehumidifiers also aid in the drying process when the finishing work takes place. If the permanent HVAC system is installed and working, some contractors run the central AC system during construction of the new home to control the climate. In some instances, this may void the homeowner’s warranty on the new heating/cooling system.
