When the building was completely sealed with door and windows in place, and the inside finishing work was started, Porta-Air received a call for help. When we arrived, we noticed a 1 million Btu open flame direct fired heater running off of propane located in the middle of the construction site floor. Since open flame heaters emit carbon dioxide and water vaper when they are starved of oxygen, this explained why the contractor was frustrated and having headaches and water vapor issues inside the enclosed space. We proposed an indirect fired unit, but the building layout and subcontractor tasks did not favor this option. With plenty of power in the building, several 15kW electric rental heaters were placed throughout the construction area. Electric portable heaters on wheels are easily moved when they are in the way of a construction task. This heating option was the best choice for the general contractor so the sub-contractors could wrap-up their work.

We were called regarding a skunk smell inside a home that just would not go away, and the customer wanted to rent something to completely remove the odor. Their dog was sprayed by skunk outdoors and ran throughout the entire home. Eventually the dog made it to the upstairs master bathroom, where most of the skunk smell was present. We proposed an ozone machine which was not an option since the home was occupied at all times. The only solution we had to offer was a HEPA Air Scrubber rental with a prefilter and activated carbon filter. The customer agreed with the proposed solution and rented the air scrubber machine for a week. They moved the scrubber around the house after addressing the horrible bathroom smell and eventually removed the entire smell from the home.
