During temperature fluctuations of the Fall season in Northwest Indiana, a permanent rooftop unit failed on the third floor of a tenant space in Hammond, Indiana. Initially, the client requested temporary air conditioning since the outdoor temperature on that specific day was unseasonably warm. After asking some questions, we concluded that the permanent rooftop unit generated both heating and cooling into the space of the tenant. Knowing that the outdoor temperature was going to drop during the rental period, we recommended a dual heating and cooling rental as the temporary solution. The commercial portable heat pump was indeed used in both the heating and cooling modes during the rental period.
