Movincool Climate Pro X units come standard with cold air nozzles which can direct the cool air in the direction where needed. In other words, the CPX18 unit provides spot cooling and blows cool air in the direction of the guests, thus keeping them cool. A customer in Kane County, IL was in a pinch since their warehouse heaters in their manufacturing storage area were not keeping up with the outdoor subzero temperatures in Chicagoland. When the call was received, we immediately reviewed the type of power available. Since 480V, 3 phase power was available, we proposed 60 kW heaters for their large warehouse. During the late summer heat wave of August 2023, a restaurant manager requested outdoor patio cooling relief for their outside dining area. Since the dining area was mostly open to the outside elements with limited power, low amperage cooling solutions were the only feasible solution without the use of a generator. A church encountered a failed heat exchanger in their boiler room and requested emergency heat for their church services and functions. An LB White indirect fired portable heater rental was installed which supplied makeup-air to aid in heating air distribution. The high temperature heater ductwork was interfaced with the church through a window opening. Pressurizing the church with fresh outdoor air also helped with indoor air changes per hour, thus helping prevent the spread of virus during the pandemic. During the winter of 2023/2024, a customer requested additional heat inside their woodworking shop and gave Porta-Air a call to rent heat. After discussing the details of his shop and the power available, we proposed a 40kW electric heater. Sawdust and gas fired equipment were not a good combination in this application, therefore an electrical heater was the only logical solution, but care was still required. Since the power disconnect was not far from the placement of the heater, it was an easy hookup with a short cord. All large electric heat rentals are prewired with a short cord with male camlocks attached. This cord/camlock setup makes it easy to connect longer wire lengths, from the heater to the power source, by simply adding cord extensions in 50-foot increments. Our larger electric heaters also have a high temperature ductwork option, which aids in directing heat to where it’s needed. We use a special material shield between the hot metal heater discharge and the fabric ductwork to minimize heat transfer between the dissimilar materials.
